A Perfect Environment To Grow

Grow in your relationship with Christ by investing the time.

I didn’t have to mow my yard for 45 days because it didn’t rain. Then it rained, and I put fertilizer out to help the grass grow quicker. Now I have had to mow twice in the last 5 days.

Take this combination: Rain + sun + fertilizer = Nate will have to mow every 3- 4 days. By the way, I love to mow.  I love to see a thick, green, lush lawn.  I’m one of those people.  😊

It’s amazing what can happen when the environment for growth is perfect. Rain + Sun + Fertilizer = GROWTH!

Do you know what the perfect environment is for you to grow in your relationship with Christ? For me, it’s this –  beginning my day in the scripture and prayer + listening to Christian music or a podcast in the car + quiet time to slow down and reflect at night + the Bears winning.

The last part I have no control over, but the other parts I have complete control over.

Allow me to be transparent….you’d be shocked on how many times I let other stuff overtake my morning time with God, my time in the car, and my time at night. This Fall I’m making a commitment to be different.

Live It Out

How are things going to be different? By telling my family and a few close friends my schedule and asking them to hold me accountable!

The good news is that I can do it.  I just have to choose to do it.

Jesus talked about this clearly in Mark 4:3-8.  Check out His words…

A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

Many times I’ve lived out verse 4 or 5 or 6 or 7.

This Fall I’d like to live out verse 8 so God can do what he wants to do in and through me. He wants you to grow closer to Him.

Will you pray for me to live out verse 8? (and feel free to hold me accountable.)

Can I pray for you to live out verse 8?  Will you find someone to hold you accountable?
