Do you ever think about what could happen if you were surprised by someone demanding your belongings? Or, what if someone came from behind and grabbed you? Would you feel better prepared if you had some actual training on how to handle these potential situations?
Empower yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. The Village is partnering with One Light Self Defense to teach avoidance tactics, self-defense misconceptions, offensive techniques and defensive escapes. One Light Self Defense is a non-profit organization that travels to schools, churches, businesses, women’s groups, girl scouts and police departments, teaching simple techniques to release and run from attacks. The donations received from their workshops are distributed to Missions of Hope Int’l and Women at Risk Int’l. They also support Reclaim 13, Family Shelter Services, South Suburban Family Shelter, YWCA, and The Harbour locally.
