Be Willing To See It
Joy – there is a way to find it in every situation. You just have to be willing to see it. This is something that usually comes easy to me-even going through the worst of situations. About 6 months ago it was something I truly struggled with. There was a lot going on in my world, physically, mentally, and emotionally, but I wasn’t able to get a handle on it. A friend of mine posted a daily scripture writing plan for the month of December. I thought, why not? I love new ways to discover the Bible and words from God. It was just what I needed to get my head and heart straight which then lead me to Joy. Joy-the word I have chosen to focus on this year.
I recently completed a 14-day devotional that I had discovered on YouVersion. It is called Joy for Today: 14 Joy-Filled Days With God. I ENCOURAGE and CHALLENGE all of you to read it. It is one of the best ones I have ever completed.
Do you want to know what the key to Joy is? It’s God! I knew this but just needed a reminder. A reminder that He loves me so much and NEVER leaves my side, even when I fail him. I needed to read and hear those words.
God’s law is not only intended as your road map through life, but it also shows you the way to happiness. If you follow this map, you will discover that living according to these particular instructions that God gives you in His word will make you extremely happy. After all, this is why you were created: to do His will and to honor Him. So, when you obey His law, joy will automatically follow because you will know that you are fulfilling His purpose for your life. Because God loves you, His law gives you clear guidelines for living each day with JOY. If you undertake to obey the law, you will truly be able to testify to this.
“Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.” Psalm 119:35
Look For It
I am looking for the Joy every day. And I am doing that by honoring Him and following His guidelines for my life. It is so easy sometimes to get caught up in all of the daily things and craziness of life. But in all that craziness-find the JOY! And I guarantee – you will truly be happy.
