You’ve Got Skills
Being a volunteer is fun! Did you know that God has uniquely created you and given you gifts, and it’s important to use those gifts to serve others?
Each one of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
We want to help you find the place to make that happen! Don’t just sit on the sidelines – everyone gets a chance to play at The Village! Our church would not be possible without the help of MANY volunteers.
What You Can Do
Check out the options below, then click on “Volunteer” to get started or contact the Team Leaders in the specific area you’re interested in! We promise it will be fun!
Welcome Team / Follow-Up Team
Are you friendly, can you smile and say welcome? The welcoming team is the first impression of our church, and you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Contact Pam Passalano if you’re ready to join this team!
Another option is the Follow-Up Team, which connects with visitors after they visit. Contact Shannon Wujek to be part of this team.
Online Chat Room Team
Chat Room volunteers are a key part to Online Church as they connect with all online participants, answer questions and guide them through the service. You can volunteer to be on the Facebook, YouTube or live.thevillagechristianchurch.com website Chat Teams. Volunteers are responsible to check-in 10 minutes before service starts and serve until 10 minutes after the last service. Contact Patrick Erzinger if you’re ready!
This team operates our audio/visual system. You can help with video, production slides, lights, or sound. You’ll need to invest a few hours getting to know the software and then you’ be good to go! Contact Sarah Windham to find out more.
Seneca Campus Team
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this team is currently on break. We are currently using sealed pre-made communion cups.
Help with communion, which is the bread and juice – prepare the trays with the bread and juice in cups, hand them out during services, and clean up. Contact Ed to find your spot.
Coffee Center / Special Events Teams
Due to COVID-19 restrictions this team is currently on break.
This important ministry creates a friendly atmosphere by providing a fresh cup of hot coffee, tea or sweet lemonade before each service! Contact Joanne Joutas.
The Special Event Team helps plan, set-up/breakdown, and prepare food for events. Contact Sarah O’Sullivan.
Pulse Students Teams
Pulse Student Ministries is a place where we connect students in a fun community. There’s a group for 4th-5th graders (Pulse 45), a group for 6th – 8th graders (Pulse Jr.) and Pulse Sr. is our high school students. If you’re interested in being a leader or helping with this ministry, contact Brittany Sandeno or Nick Sandeno to see if it’s right for you!
Signs / Social Media / Photography Teams
Many people find our church because of the community signs. If you’re on the Sign Team, you would put a sign out in your neighborhood on Friday night and pick it up on Sunday afternoon/evening. It’s easy and has a huge impact!
Like to take pictures? We love to capture moments as they happen and share them to celebrate all that God is doing. Join the Photography Team if you like to have fun while snapping pics. You don’t need a professional camera.
Are you on Facebook or Instagram? We are! We love to share what we’re doing on social media and are looking for volunteers to help!
Contact Karol Scott if you’re interested in any of these teams!
If administration is your thing and you would like to help in the church office, then contact Shannon Wujek.
Building Maintenance Team
This team helps keep our church home in tip-top shape. If you’re handy and like projects or fixing things, then this is the team for you! During the winter months we also need help shoveling snow and salting the sidewalks to keep everyone safe. Contact Tim Juskiewicz if you’re interested!
Sometimes it’s nice to just be outdoors. Our Landscape Team keeps our grounds looking great. If you have a green thumb and want to share your gift, contact Susan Juskiewicz.
Be a first responder to assist with medical emergencies and other situations requiring a plan of action. Volunteers need to be trained in First Aid and be CPR certified for the medical team. Contact Heather Houck if you’re interested!
In The Community
The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. – Matthew 9:37-38
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:26
